154 Ate Ruth Celebrates with National Children’s Hospital

Written by Kuya Harvard

It is truly a delight when we get connectedto people who wish to bless children. Thanks to our Facebook fan page and its reach, we were able to touch base with Ate Ruth and herfriends. It was our 4th event with National Children’s Hospital, one of 5 hospitals visit on a regular basis for kids with cancer.

It was early August when we got a private message on our Facebook account on her willingness to set something by September. It was her birthday last September 7. She also wanted her 5 year old son Migs to experience reaching out and being involved early.

The weather got better and it was good timing that day! We started with the usual orientation and partnering. We had Kuya Benj do a lively story telling of Patotot, a book supplies by Adarna Publishing. We then went from group to one on one. The volunteers spent time with the kids for their own story telling, arts and crafts, profile exchange and merienda. 🙂 There were 25 kids who were so engaging and joyful despite what they were going through. This made our day.

Thank you to the volunteers. Some from U! Happy Events were there as well. It was an epic event indeed. If you wish to have your own event, please click Create Your Own Event and let’s make change together. 🙂
