Oftentimes, birthdays are celebrated by receiving gifts and hanging out with our loved ones and friends while dining at a fancy restaurant. But Ate Paula thought of a better way to celebrate her special day with family and friends and the children from Kuya Center in Cubao, with a total of around 30 kids and 30 volunteers!
We started the party by dividing the kids and volunteers into 4 groups to allow them to get to know each other. We had a few games that showcased teamwork, sportsmanship and their competitiveness, especially during the kids versus volunteers game.
After the games we had a magic show where both kids and adults were amused and amazed. We also had face painting on the side where each kid, and volunteer, took turns to have their faces painted with their favorite characters.
After the show, kids and volunteers settled down, went back to their groupings and ate together. After meals, Ate Paula gave out special gift packs to all the kids present that time, and as a way of saying thank you, the kids from Kuya Center performed a medley dance number for Ate Paula, her family and friends. Like always, all parties must come to an end. The kids had to bid goodbyes to their Ates and Kuyas. There can never be a greater sense of fulfillment than seeing the smiles on the faces of everybody who took part in celebrating Ate Paula’s birthday.
