1033 Ate Nezi and friends Celebrate with Little Lights Ministry

Written by: Kuya Harvard Uy-De Baron, Chairman

It wasn’t December yet but the Christmas season was felt early in the midst of the cheers and smiles of our volunteers and kids. Last November 5 was not an ordinary day, together with Ate Gizella and Ate LA, Ate Nezi celebrated their birthdays with one of our beneficiaries, Little Lights.
Little Lights has been serving the community of Tawi Tawi in Pasig and nearby areas for more than a decade now. They provide primarily spiritual formation, honing the values of the future generation through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Little Lights also extends nourishing programs, tutorial and livelihood programs.
Ate Nezian brought along a number of her friends and I had the pleasure of hosting a bunch of games and other activities designed to bond and create interactions with the kids.
We played bring me art, a creative twist of the popular bring me game. The group cuts as fast as they could an item that am looking for. We also engaged everyone with sing like u! mean it. The challenge here was to guess as many songs in one minute while the lead has a big pandesal in their mouth. They had to sing or hum without mentioning title of the song. Both of these were entertaining and fun to see.
Our short morning ended with everyone shouting puso through a group picture, and each one putting together two fingers to form a heart. It was a fitting symbol of what transpired that day as I felt the genuine love from the volunteers to the kids.
