For Ate Monica, helping others kindles true happiness. That’s why she chose to celebrate her very special day with the kids from John David Salvador.
Ate Monica is an active core member of U! Happy. Doing charity works is not new to her that’s why she didn’t have second thoughts as to where and how would she celebrate her birthday. Her commitment to help is truly amazing and that makes our sponsor very special.
The party was held in Jollibee Gil Puyat, Pasay City. The location was a bit far for both sponsor and beneficiary but they all managed to arrive for that special day. As usual, the event was started with a prayer. Then, the most awaited GAMES! We came up with four groups in total. We divided our ates and kuyas as well and designated them to the four groups. For the first game, Ate Rica, our host and core member, provided scenarios which our kids would portray. At first, kids were a bit shy to participate. Because most of them were very shy, the game was dominated by Group 1. Apparently, they were the only active group by that time. However, things had changed on the second game. The second game was Action Relay: Animal category. Surprisingly, the most inactive group during the first game won this game.
While some kids and volunteers are naturally outgoing, others are why and have a hard time connecting to other people. That is why we have this kind of activities and interactions. This is an opportunity to practice and develop our social skills and for us to feel more comfortable with meeting new friends and connections.
Again, we are thanking Ate Monica, her dad and friends for making this day extra special not only to her but also to our lovely kids!
