It was a back to back Saturday for two groups of kids battling cancer. It was fortunate for the core team that they were nearby. The first was with Ate Stella with her family and friends at Tahan Tahanan. Ate Louanne had hers in the afternoon at Childhaus.

Childhaus is a temporary shelter for indigent patients from the different provinces who have cancer or other dreaded diseases and have no place to stay in Metro Manila while undergoing medical evaluation or treatment. They provide free room and board to its residents. Childhaus is run along the principles of hospice care and promotes the concept of holistic care healing through its various programs, services and activities.

Ate Louanne has big heart for kids especially those who have illness. She herself has a condition which she had since her childhood. We admire her willingness to make an event for kids with cancer. She prepared cupcake decorating, magic show, photo booth and games for 40 kids, guardians and volunteers. Besides merienda, she also gave away amazing loot bags.

Our photos try to picture what really happened that day. They say it speaks a thousand words. We say volunteering in person is more special. It is definitely more than photos. We invite you to join us on our next events when your free. :)
