Balloons, cotton candy, ice cream, acrobats, and magicians – sounds like the perfect mix of things for children to enjoy! These and more were given to the children of the JD Salvador Foundation in Tondo one Saturday morning by ate Kyna and her friends.
Ate Kyna is a social media influencer and blogger who has a very kind heart and has been wanting to give back and help out, so she took to social media to invite everyone who wanted to help out for her outreach. Her chosen beneficiary was the JD Salvador Foundation children, an organization that establishes, funds, and supports programs that benefit the community’s children.
That Saturday, the children entered the roof top that was filled with balloons and immediately you would see their excitement for the activities to come. There were 50 children who were grouped into 10 groups, each group having their own “ates” and “kuyas”. The ates and kuyas got to know the members of their groups, and they talked about their favorite subjects in school and who their bestfriends are. Through all of this, there was a mime that the children dearly called “Kuya Kulit”, that went around and put up acts that everyone was enjoying while getting to know each other. After that was game time!
Everyone played a hula hoop game wherein the members had to hold the hoop outside in a circle and when the games master and host, Kuya Harvard, said a certain criteria, the members who fit must go in the hoop. For example all the members wearing shorts must go in the hoop and the fastest group wins.
After the game, Kuya Kulit the mime put on a solo show in front of the children. He acted, danced and made a lot of jokes. Everyone laughed and enjoyed Kuya Kulit’s performance. After the mime show, the children enjoyed a magic show by Kuya Kobe, but that’s not all! He even held a magic workshop after his show! He taught the children a bit of magic and how some card tricks were done. The children were amazed!
The acrobats came next, twisting and turning and jumping in the air. They did tricks on their own ans they did tricks with a group. They went up in the air and they balanced their bodies in ways that were terrifying. It was surely a feat and the children loved the show as well.
The last performer was ate Divine, a balloon artist. She twisted balloons into animals, toys, and characters that she then gave to the children.
But the day did not stop with the last performer. After all the fun but tiring activities, everyone had a healthy meal of adobo and vegetables. But that isn’t all! There was also cotton candy and ice cream for everyone! Everyone had a grand time! To say goodbye, ate Kyna and her friends gave baon packs for the children to enjoy.
As the day came to an end, the children ran up to their ates and kuyas with a hug to say goodbye. It was truly a fun-filled day.
