Last Tuesday, April 21, 2015, the team went all the way to Sumulong Highway, Antipolo,Rizal to celebrate ate Kirsten’s birthday. It was for her 14th birthday and she chose to celebrate it at McDonalds with 25 kids of Precious Heritage Children’s Home.
The event was started with a prayer before meal, which was lead by 9-year old Rosa. Everyone ate their favorite McDonalds meal wile conversing with volunteers, friends, and family members of our birthday celebrant.
Right after finishing their food, kids and volunteers were divided into four groups. The first game was a very simple one. It was a screaming competition. Each group was required to shout as loud as they can when their group was called. The winner for this competition was group 1 (ate Kirsten’s group).
The second game was “In or Out”. In this game, the group’s goal is to produce the required number of members standing inside and outside the hula hoop depending on kuya Harvard’s request. This time, members need to think and move as fast as they can. The winner of this competition was group 4.
The last game was “Up or Down”. Each group was given ten (10) agility cones. The objective of this game was to destroy the position of the other group’s agility cones while protecting their own. This time, members need to have strength, strategy, and must have no mercy. It was a very tough competition as groups were very eager to win. At the end of the competition, group 4 was declared the winner.
And because games were over, it’s time to mellow down. Birdie the Early Bird and Hamburglar came in and surprised our kids. These two friends of Ronald McDonald did a dance number to entertain our kids. The event was concluded with a gift giving, group picture, and exchange of warm hugs.
Ate Kirsten 14th birthday celebration will surely be remembered by these kids. Turning fourteen (14) became sweeter because she chose to celebrate it by giving happiness, hope and inspiration to kids.
