187 Ate Kim Celebrates with Operation Paglingap Foundation

Written by Kuya Harvard

Gatherings are not only to meet people you already know. It also gives an opportunity to find new connections. Kuya Harvard met Mrs. Cherry Tendero, wife of Bishop Efraim Tendero, the national director of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) last month and she mentioned their community work for children. Both of them head Kamuning Bible Christian Fellowship and its counterpart foundation, Operation Paglingap.

Their vision is to have spiritually strong and economically reliant Christians who are transforming communities and nations for God. They provide spiritual, emotional, physical, social, educational, and economic development programs and services among the poor, transforming them into effective agents of change in the society and nation. Part of their program is free education for kids in their center.

Ate Kim de Leon is our sponsor that day. She is Kuya Harvard’s friend from Victory Church in the Fort. It was another fruitful birthday celebration. We reached out to 30 kids from the beneficiary’s program. Around 20 volunteers went to join the jam packed list of activities we prepared. We had balloon twisting, story telling, art games, film showing, short word, ice cream and loads of gifts that day!

The friends of Ate Kim also took the initiative to pool a donation together for the education program for the kids supported by Operation Paglingap. Thank you for that! Thank you for joining our cause in providing better opportunities to kids and their families! 🙂
