537 Ate Ina’s Art in Island with Alay Buhay Foundation

For our team over at U! Happy Events, not even dreary weather could keep us from having a grand time as long as kids and volunteering are involved! Despite the rainy season, we still had a bright and happy Thursday afternoon last July 9, as we trooped over to take kids from Alay Buhay Foundation to 3D Art Museum, Art in Island, in Cubao.
The Art in Island visit was courtesy of sponsor ate Ina, who along with her college friends happily went to the event so they could tour the children firsthand. We paired each volunteer with a group of kids and some parents who were able to join, and started with introductions. Once everyone got acquainted with each other, we then excitedly went inside to get the tour started. As soon as we got in, it was evident that not only the children, but the adults as well, would find the place so interesting!
Unlike other museums where visitors only get to look at the paintings and displays, Art in Island lets you be part of the art! From jungle settings to majestic castles to the pyramids of Egypt, the museum was such a fascinating place to be in, filled with various forms of interactive art in the entirety of its 2-storey building. It was no wonder that our volunteers, the kids, and their parents kept on snapping shots to capture the really cool memories!
After seeing all that Art in Island had to offer, we then took a breather and let all our participants enjoy yummy merienda from the museum’s cafe. This was added opportunity for the volunteers and the kids to talk about themselves, and reminisce about all their favorites in the tour. To cap off the really colorful and fantastic day, the volunteers led by ate Ina gave the children presents in the form of school supplies. We then had a group photo, and warm hugs were prevalent as the kids and volunteers bid each other farewell.
We would like to thank ate Ina, her friends, and Alay Buhay Foundation for making this afternoon possible. We look forward to seeing more of you in future events!
