“You can be a victim of cancer, or a survivor of cancer; it’s a mindset.” – Dave Pelzer

Isn’t it the best way to celebrate our 300th volunteer event by blessing kids through a memorable experience? It was more inspiring to know that our sponsor, Ms. Felisa Hope, would rather celebrate her 18th birthday with kids battling Cancer from National Children’s Hospital (NCH).

It was a sunny day last March 9 and our team was given another privilege to spend time at their pediatric cancer ward. This was our second time this year to visit them. We had games, storytelling, and gift giving. Kids were filled with excitement when the volunteers did a story telling with big colored books in their respective groups.

Still brimming with smiles, the kids were engaged to watch Jive’s song and dance performance. Their enthusiasm and positivity were contagious. The kids and their guardians were encouraged to dance. Jive also instructed the volunteers for a few dance steps which brought entertainment to the kids.

As the event was about to finish up, Kuya Harvard encouraged Ate Felisa to share why she choose to celebrate at NCH. According to her story she was confined in the same hospital a few years back. We really value Create Your Own Events like these for they provide hope and love. We believe this day created new memories for the kids to cherish while thanking God every single day.
