276 Ate Claire Celebrates with Precious Heritage Children

Written by Kuya Harvard

It was the most awaited day every year- the celebration of Christmas Day. It was December 25 and the volunteers took the time to be with orphaned kids of Precious Children Heritage Home in Antipolo City. Ate Claire, an Australian national sponsored this event. It was her birthday too!

The venue was a challenge to find. It was deep in Antipolo proper. That didn’t matter when we started seeing the kids’s smiles in anticipation of what Ate Claire and friends prepared for them. We had 2 clowns for balloon twisting, photo booth, face paint and dance workshop as our main workshop that day.

Ate Jo-e, our past president and now based in Singapore visited her family in Manila. She volunteered to do the dance as as she is a professional choreographer. We divided the groups into three. Ate Jo-e patiently taught and gave various tips. Interesting enough, all her dance moves were ordinary things we do everyday. The groups then performed in the tune of Treasure by Bruno Mars.

After our group photo, we distributed Adarna story books to kids. As you can see, they couldn’t wait to explore and read their gifts. We gave 2 copies to each one and encouraged them to share. Thank you once again Ate Claire for your partnership with us. 🙂
