967 Movie Screening: Spiderman Homecoming with Little Lights Ministry

Written by Vice President for External, Ate Charmain Tan
We all looked forward to this weekend as JCI Manilena invited the kids of Little Lights Ministry to watch the block screening of Spider-Man: Homecoming at Promenade Greenhills. JCI Manilena is a non-profit leadership development organization of young professional women. They have been sponsoring events through the years, including medical missions and easter egg hunt events. They regularly invite us to screenings of blockbuster movies like Star Wars Rogue One and X-Men. Couple of years back they also invited us to watch Disney Live at Mall of Asia Arena which featured three of Disney’’s classic fairy tales. For the past events we invited children from Precious Heritage, AHA Learning Center, Little Lights Ministry, and Tulong sa Kapwa Kapatid.
This friday evening the children of Little Lights Ministry arrived early at Promenade as they were all very excited to see the movie. These children live in the communities around Pasig. We enjoyed our burger and friends with the children as we waited for the event to start. JCI also gave some snacks for the kids to enjoy during the movie. Throughout the movie we saw Peter Parker as an ordinary high school student while at the same time fighting crimes in his neighborhood. It was a light and funny movie and the kids kept laughing the entire time. The movie had good lessons the kids could learn from.
After the movie JCI gave out prizes to the winners of the raffle drawing. We got a Spider-Man T shirt and a gift pack which we gave to the kids. We had group photos with JCI and the kids as we thanked them for inviting us to the latest Marvel film.
