948 Ate Joy’s Ocean Park with JD Salvador

Written by Core Team Leader, Alexis Joy Po
It’s about time I tick off stuff from my bucket list before I turn 3_+ and these include visiting Europe, start a business, do an outreach, visit the local ocean park and treat people who are/were a blessing to me. Since travelling far ain’t happening yet, might as well do the rest while we’re at it!
Being one of the founders of U! Happy, it is a privilege to be utilizing this create your own service, be the sponsor and a volunteer working hand in hand with the team I am familiar with at the same time. Joining me were friends from random circles – xcolleagues, church friends, family and some from mixed-interest groups on this Manila Ocean park tour. Overall we were with 24 kids + 22 adults, excluding U! Happy core team volunteers & the adults from the beneficiary.
My hope is that I can be a conduit of awareness and maybe a blessing to the people who came… but much more than that, my dream is for the guests to have their own outreach someday soon so they can also experience the joy I have in serving.
Our tour of one of the finest local tourist spots took around 5 hours with us traversing 7 different sites. That afternoon was packed with people and that was one of the reasons why it took us awhile. Our favorite stop would be the Sea Lion Show, a spectacle attended by at least 4,500 people at a time.
Our kids were from John David Salvador, they were all too excited and that vibrant energy rubbed to our friends as well. It is such an honor to see them all smiles and overly grateful as we departed ways.
What about you? What is in your bucket list?
